AFTERWORD

Throughout this journey, we've seen how atheism often requires more faith than belief in God. We began by distinguishing between mature belief and primitive religious concepts. We removed straw man arguments and acknowledged religion's role in both creating and challenging atheism. We examined how proof, faith, and perspective work together to support reasonable belief. We showed how evolution and creation aren't enemies, and how the universe itself points to an intelligent Creator God. And finally, we faced the deepest challenge to faith -- the enigma of evil -- with both intellectual honesty and mature faith.

This little book was written primarily to encourage the faithful and, secondarily, to inform the atheist. And we did all of this without having to delve into the specifics of physics, biology, or any specialized science. Any person of average intelligence is capable of defending their faith against atheism and promoting the reality of God.

It is this writer's opinion that atheism is the most unscientific of all theories. It rejects the most fundamental fact that if there is nothing, nothing could ever be (0 x 0 = 0). Atheism closes the door to discovery and possibilities, requiring hypocrisy, arrogance, and ignorance, the very things atheism claims to abhor and the antithesis of a true scientific mind.

This understanding should give every believer confidence -- not arrogance, not hostility toward atheists, but quiet assurance that our faith aligns with both logic and evidence. We can engage with atheist arguments knowing that, when fully examined, they will always unravel.

When you encounter questions or challenges to your faith, remember that doubts and questions are not the enemy -- they're often stepping stones to a more mature belief. The strongest faith isn't blind but has wrestled with difficult questions and emerged stronger. Your journey of seeking understanding mirrors the very purpose of our existence -- to know and to grow.

In today's world where scientific discovery accelerates and cultural conversations about faith evolve, these timeless questions about our existence take on new relevance. Each scientific breakthrough, rather than diminishing God's role, reveals another aspect of His creative genius.

Truly because God exists, every argument against the existence of God is flawed and can be unraveled.

And because God is good and wise, every argument purporting to show God as less than benevolent and less than wise is flawed and can be unraveled.

The petty arguments that challenge the goodness and wisdom of God require a deeper knowledge about God, the universe, and His methods and intentions. These deeper matters are discussed in my book "The Divine Adventure: Why We Exist." To those interested in furthering this discussion, I encourage you to read it, and don't hesitate to contact me at hello@zelisebooks.com.

I invite you to continue this exploration -- not just through reading, but through thoughtful conversations with others, both believers and skeptics. Share these ideas, ask questions, and join the ongoing dialogue about the most fundamental questions of our existence. Your understanding and your faith will only deepen as you engage with these questions alongside others on the same journey.
